This student has a very common miss pattern. Contact is poor, the ball doesn't get airborne, if they make contact at all.

In their 3D Sportsbox avatar you can see bent elbows immediately after impact, and their Chest Bend movements before, at, and after impact are far from optimal (as indicated by the red numbers).

Diagnosis:

Incorrect Chest Bend movements before, during, and after impact are keeping this player's chest too close to the ground, forcing bent elbows at impact. These movements result in horrible contact (tops and whiffs).

Movement AFTER

Prioritize:

Chest Bend movements before, at, and after impact so they become more optimal. This allows the player to keep their arms straighter, and impact will improve.

Notice the new, optimal Chest Bend measurements as indicated by the green numbers in the panel under their 3D avatar.

Result:

Contact improved and the ball now started to fly rather than roll!

There is still work to be done to make these movements permanent, but my student NOW HAS CLARITY about what and how to improve.
